P0002 — Fuel Volume Regulator Control Circuit Range/Performance

Moderate severity

What it means

P0002 is stored when the engine control unit sees a fault involving the fuel volume regulator control circuit. The fuel volume regulator controls how much fuel the high-pressure pump delivers to the rail, so faults here directly change fuel pressure. A “range/performance” fault means the value is present but implausible — it does not agree with other sensors or expected conditions.

Common symptoms

Likely causes

What to check first

  1. Cross-check the reading against related sensors in live data on a cold start
  2. Compare commanded vs actual fuel-rail pressure in live data
  3. Inspect the regulator connector and pump wiring

Can you keep driving?

Fuel-pressure faults can leave you stranded or trigger limp mode — diagnose it before relying on the car.
